🫂😢 As a "stroppy" female all my life, the Topp Twins resonated from the first moment I saw a clip of them performing (on the street I think?) and being out-and-proud helped so many at a time when it was not easy. I've no doubt many women, gay & straight, have been bolstered by the sisters being "stroppy" in so many ways - Dame Jools may have left us but the legacy of standing up & being authentic, plus the music & comedy the Topp Twins used to achieve it, will live on 💪 As will the examples of the women you mention whose courage will continue to be an example for others 👏

I had a moment when I heard of Dame Jools' death. She bought so much delight to many, many people.

Both NZ First and Stuart Nash must be desperate for candidates/employment!

Stroppy women came to my mind as well when the news broke 🫶

Yet here we all are still putting up with appalling misogynist shit still. Winston Peters welcomes in an ex Cabinet Minister who publicly described women in the most demeaning way! This creep Stuart Nash is wanting to secure another tax payer funded salary and the current Prime Minister has gone quite and won’t comment!

Based on your Substack, I provided detailed feedback to Xero about why I no longer recommend their product. Nil response, of course.

Tears stream down my face. I can’t wait for that day too when you can write about other stuff. For now, all I can do is say thank you for helping us to reshape the system by sharing our stories. Your gift is a necessary part of the process 🫶🏼 One day we’ll celebrate by eating cake by the ocean 🌊

Great tribute with a great summary of endemic “issues”suffered by too many women -all the while beautifully paying your respects to a wonderful Kiwi gal who gave so much to her country . ❤️
